The Wyoming Senior Winter Games Committee is pleased to host the 2025 Wyoming Senior Winter Games in Pinedale on February 20-22, 2025.  From the meticulously groomed cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the Wind River Mountains to the beautiful White Pine Ski Area (9,500 ft.), Pinedale is home to some of the best winter activities in the state. 

Come and experience our winter events, dine in our cozy downtown atmosphere, and experience all of the small-town hospitality that Pinedale has to offer.

Volunteers are the backbone of the Wyoming Senior Winter Games and nothing takes place without all these individuals making it possible.  We give special thanks to all the volunteers that stepped up.  Of note are members of the Wyoming Senior Olympics, Wyoming Senior Winter Games Committee, Event Commissioners, and the army of staff with the Pinedale Aquatic Center, Sublette County Ski & Snowboard Association, and Sublette County Trails Association.

Age Brackets and Medal Policy for Participants 

The WSWG is for individuals aged fifty or older on December 31, 2025

 

Age brackets are: 

Female 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95+

Male 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95+

Age for competition is determined by the athlete’s age as of December 31, 2025.  

Age/Skill for pickleball doubles and mixed doubles will be determined by the higher skill player and the lower aged player as of December 31, 2025.  

Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to the first, second and third place participants.  Results will be posted online after all results have been entered and reported.

There is no mail-in registration

FEES

A $70.00 registration fee covers all events and the Celebration Banquet

Extra banquet tickets can be purchased with registration for $25

Registration closes February 9, 2025

LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. 

Cancellation Policy 

Refunds will be given for any events canceled by the Committee except in the case of highway or road closures or other conditions out of the control of the event planners.  Refunds for medical and other reasons must be requested in writing and will be assessed a $10.00 processing fee.  No refunds after February 9, 2025

Registration closes February 9, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.  Late entries will not be accepted. 

Celebration Banquet 

On Friday, February 21 a Celebration Banquet for participating athletes and their guests will be held at

Rendezvous Pointe, 425 W Magnolia. 

Beer and wine will not be provided (otherwise BYOB)

 Social hour will start at 5:30pm

Dinner will be served at 6pm

 There will be both meat and meatless options; a gluten-free option is available upon request. 

 

Guest Speaker:  Dr. Uriah Gracia-Salinas - SAFE (Sustained/Senior Athlete Fitness Exam)

The Celebration Banquet fee is included in the registration fee for multi-event participants.  Additional banquet tickets may be purchased for $25 online at the time of registration or paid at the door. 

VENUES AND DIRECTIONS 

Pinedale Aquatic Center, 535 N Tyler Ave (phone: 307- 367-2832)

hosts the athlete check-in, one-mile walk, pickleball, and swimming. PAC offers an 8 lane 25 meter lap pool, and a warm, zero-depth entry leisure pool, which includes a lazy river/current channel, submarine, and 30 foot spiral water slide. PAC also has a multi-purpose gymnasium, indoor climbing wall, stand alone weight room, fitness area with a variety of weights and fitness equipment, indoor walking/running track, racquetball courts, and outdoor tennis/basketball courts.

White Pine Ski Area, 74 White Pine Rd (phone: 307-367-6606)

 Located just 10 miles from Pinedale, the mountain holds about 25 trails of differing changes. Nestled in the beautiful Wind River Mountain Range the ski area includes 2 lifts, equipment rentals, lessons, and concessions. White Pine offers an affordable, friendly, and exciting adventure for athletes and their families and guests. 

Check in at the lodge between 8am-9am. to get a racing bib. Assistance will be provided for any skier who needs help finding the route to the ski course. Feel free to leave gear at the lodge. The awards ceremony will occur directly in front of the lodge to the East of the chair lifts.  This event is a possibility. More information to come. 

Nordic events will be held on the Nordic Ski trails adjacent to White Pine Ski Area. Participants will check in at the warming hut near the NorthWest end of the White Pine parking lot.

Refreshments at Venues 

All participants need to bring food and drinks to meet their own needs during competition.  Water will be provided at all venues by WSO.

 

Lodging

Hampton Inn and Suites, Pinedale, WY (Ph: 307-367-6700)

will be our host hotel for the Winter Games and has provided us with a block of rooms at a discounted rate of $119.00 +Tax.  Please book early because Pinedale is hosting other large events that weekend.  Please make sure the hotel you are choosing is near the competition venue.

1-Mile Walk

  • Participants must WALK the entire mile without breaking stride into a run. Participants walk any time between the times listed, starting at the direction of the race timer. Medals awarded at the celebration banquet.

Women’s Doubles Pickleball

  • USPA rules apply with competition in 5-year age categories based on age of the youngest team member.

  • Skate technique is not allowed. Races run concurrently with each competitor opting for one of the distances.

Swim Meet (warm-up starts at 12:30pm)

  • Events include 25, 50, 100 and 200 yard distances in the backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, and freestyle; also the 100 and 200 yard Individual Medley.

    • Each swimmer is limited to 5 events.

Snowshoe Races - 2.5K, 100 Meter

  • The sprint starts will be broken down into gender and age, as needed. The 2.5K will be a mass start with all participants. There will be 15 minute breaks between races.

Skinny Singles

  • Games will be held in the PAC and High School gyms; enter through PAC.
